Great wader! Go with the GORE-Tex.

Date:September 23, 2014
The Headwaters wader is the best wader for your money, period. You get Simms entry level GORE-Tex wader for a great price. As a gear tester for GORE, I spend a TON of days on the water and in the woods with my gear, and I don't take it easy! I like to hike deep into the wilderness where the only company I will have as I fish is a bear, the fish I am chasing, or other animals! I'm not someone who throws their waders on after I get out of my truck and walk 25 yards into the stream. These waders are breathable, have a great fit, tough as nails, and you get a great price. Don't forget, these are made of GORE-TEX, so you are really getting the best bang for your buck. If I could give one piece of advice to those shopping for waders, it would be to opt for the GORE-TEX every time. I use these year round, and I have plenty of room to throw on layers underneath mine (I'm 6'4, 280 lbs, size 14 boot). While steel heading, I stayed warm, dry, and on the water all day, which lead to more fish! While trout fishing, the sweat is able to escape due to the breathability of these waders. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

You get what you pay for

Date:September 4, 2014
I finally upgraded to some serious waders and boots - where have these been all my life? I paired the Headwaters waders with Simms Rivershed boots and this is the most comfortable wader / boot combo I have ever worn. Miles of walking and a week of busting brush and blackberries and climbing over snags in N. Michigan and not one leak, puncture or tear. The extra layers in the legs really help with durability, but I can still wear them all day with no sweating or dampness. They dry fast, even on the inside if you step into a hole, fill them up, and join the inside-out wader club. They fit a little tighter in the calves knees than I was used to but this turned out to be a plus in strong current. My only gripe is that there is no inside chest pocket - the outside pocket is mesh so whatever is in that is going to get wet. An inside pocket is no guarantee of waterproof storage, but even in ziplocks I would feel a little more secure with my wallet, car keys and cell phone in an inside pocket.

More than a name

Date:August 11, 2014
I purchased my Simms waders in 2000. I have more than 400 days on the water. I am an aggressive wader/hiker. I have climbed over countless boulders/dead fall. I have slipped and skidded down hills on my rear. I accidentally walked through cactus and the pinholes did not leak. (did give me an itchy knee for a couple weeks). I have had to make the expected repairs and the boot foot neoprene is starting to break down. If you are gulping at the price you should factor in how long these will last. If I ever need new waders (I have owned other brands to less success) I will always purchase Simms.

Solid waders

Date:April 3, 2014
Very solid waders but a little bit tight around the chest. I like the built in gravel guards and chest pocket.

Nothing But Issues

Date:October 12, 2014
They fit great is the only reason I buy Simms Waders. I had issues with my first pair and I watched all the official videos on how to repair them during the Fall Salmon run but had no luck fixing the leak. I sent them in for repair and was told I had done something wrong while repairing them so they would not repair them and they were a complete loss. This year I bought another pair just before the fall run and they lasted 30 days before getting a leak in the bootie so taking them back.
