BLACKS CREEK Aimpoint® CompM4S™ Red-Dot Scope

Military performance in sportsman applications, the CompM4S is the finest sight that Aimpoint has ever produced. Improved energy efficiency provides up to eight years of continuous use from a single AA battery. The CompM4S incorporates an integral mount that eliminates the need for a separate ring, and can be customized with vertical and forward spacers to fit a variety of weapon systems. Great for hunters and sport shooters who need nightvision compatibility. The performance of the CompM4S is optimized for use with all generations of nightvision devices (NVDs), but is especially suited for third generation nightvision technology. Aimpoint’s unique band-pass coating on the front lens reflects select frequencies of red light at near 100% efficiency in order to give the highest possible dot brightness with the smallest amount of energy. it also transmits nearly 100% of light in the infrared and near-infrared part of the spectrum to provide the clearest, brightest image possible when used with a third generation NVD. With seven NVD-compatible brightness settings and nine daylight settings (including one extra-bright setting), the CompM4S is ready for use around the clock. The QRP2 mount has twice the clamping force of the original QRP, and the mounting knob is wider and shorter to improve operation, and lessen the chance of becoming snagged on other gear. Mount base is "keyed" to the body of the sight to absorb recoil and screws directly into the sight - no separate sight ring is required. 500,000 hours of use on NVD setting. 2-MOA dot for close combat and long-distance engagement. Matches perfectly with Aimpoint 3XMag (not included). Front lens opening is threaded for addition of killFlash™ anti-reflective device (not included). Submersible to 150 feet. Vertical spacer included. Improved adjustment caps are easier to remove, and are protected against impact. Housing is made from extruded high strength-aluminium with a hard-anodized matte black surface finish. Dimensions: 4.7"L x 2.1"W x 2.4"H. Weight: 9.3 oz sight only; 11.8 oz with integrated mount.

aimpoint comp m-4

Date:July 9, 2009
The scope exceeded my expectations. I installed it on my AR-10. It only took a minute to put it on due to the integrated base. At the range I was amazed when it only took three shots to get the scope sited. For a fast site acqusition in a rugged package the aimpoint cant be beat.

Comp M4 best Aimpoint yet.

Date:September 10, 2007
I got one of these when they first hit the shelf and it is awesome. The 2moa dot covers 2 inches at 100 yds or 4 inches at 200 yds or 6 inches at 300 yds. Out to 300 yds this is quite fast. Not as fast as an EOTech up close but better at distance. Where this really shines is the long AA battery life compared to the relatively short battery life of an EOTech. The other feature that is really outstanding is the mount which can be finger turned untill it clicks twice and is then at the perfect torque.
Best use is AR-15 / M4 set up to co-witness with iron sights but the usefulness of this little unit doesnt stop there because it can be used for hunting applications hunting in heavy brush etc to quickly acquire the target. What you put the dot on you hit. The Aimpoints do not suffer the problem that cheap red dots have where your head has to be in perfect alignment (move your head with the gun in a fixed position and watch to see if the dot indicated the same point of impact) Aimpoint scopes work, the cheap red dots do not do the same thing. Built in anti reflection device +1 VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT.

Simply The Best!

Date:April 12, 2010
The Aimpoint Comp M4 is the best red dot I have used. It works fantastic with the 3X magnifier and PVS-14 night vision. The mounting knob allows for perfect torque. There is no need to carry a torque wrench. It also can be transferred from weapon to weapon with ease (it must be zeroed to the host). I move mine from a AR platform (in multiple calibers) to a shotgun for coyotes and turkey. It works fantastic. The only down side is the price.... That the ONLY reason for the 4 stars! The price is hard to swallow but if you resell it, you get back about 80% of your money. Not a bad deal in my book!
If you don't use night vision a Aimpoint ML2 will work just as good..... If you can sell a kidney and buy the scope, go for it. If you don't have night vision, the ML2 is a better value. Hunt hard and shoot straight.......
