Nice axe, worthless handle

Date:October 5, 2012
Worked great for cutting seasoned wood and kindling.
Tried splitting a piece of maple, head got stuck and handle broke trying to remove it. Handle is very flexible and not very strong. Now I have to find a wood handle with some backbone.

Awesome axe!

Date:August 3, 2012
This axe rocks (sorry, I'm a guitar player). It's lightweight for it's size, but gets the job done. Could easily be carried while backpacking. I don't know why they used
A slightly flexible handle, but if you use it carefully and let the axe do the work it's not a problem, in fact it absorbs shock! Excellent!

Innovative design

Date:July 25, 2012
PROS
Great chopper for its size
Knife like edge
Nice handle length and shape
Splits very well for its size
Weight is manageable for hiking
Bites deep into wood
Cons
Handle is not solid and bends
Blade is very thin, prone to sticking in wood
I have owned this axe for almost a year and it gets a fair amount of use. Being my beater axe it sees a little of everything.
I gave up trying to break the handle and learned how to properly use it. The head itself is unique and lends itself well to any campsite task. With its knifelike design can be used for simple fieldcraft chores too.
The handle will and does get stuck occasionally and you need a beater stick to remove it from the wood. You can also just give it a quick sideways tug and lift to release it when it bites too deep.
I will say this in closing, this thing chops very well and outperformed a similar sized fiskar on a nasty hard log. The design is different but pretty good.
It is a good low maintenance tool which would be better with a stiffer handle and maybe a little more meat on the edge(debatable). So far I have not been able to break my handle to replace it with a wooden one.
Hunters,campers,canoers, would like this axe.
Remember this is not a traditional axe but works very well.

light duty

Date:May 7, 2012
This axe cuts very well, great design on the head. The handle not so much, to weak. Got it stuck while cutting an 8" alder and thought the handle was going to break trying to get it out, used another axe to get it out. I'll stick with my Fiskers axe.

My favorite axe

Date:February 8, 2012
This is a phenomenal camping tool, not too small nor too large. Reminds me so much of the Headless Horseman's axe from Sleepy Hollow. I keep one in my travel trailer and another attached to my camping backpack.
