good on large diameter trees

Date:August 10, 2008
This stand is built on a wide base which creates both a positive and a negative.
The positive is that the wide width allows for lots of room to spread your legs out without having them crammed into the side bars like most climbing stands in the 20" width range. The stand sits very comfortable. I replaced the noisy clangy top seat section with a homebuilt net seat, and yes I can hunt this stand very comfortable and for long periods.
The negative created by this wide base is that it does not climb smaller diameter trees safely because there is very little contact between the cable around the back of the tree. On large diameter trees you are fine and there is sufficient cable to bark contact, but as you go down in tree diameter the cable to tree contact is reduced as well, thus creating an unsafe condition. I would also be very careful using this stand in wet weather as the cable around the tree can slip since it does not have teeth that bite into the tree.
Like many other hunting products that I buy this one needed some modifications (carrying system and seat) before I was comfortable hunting with it.
Remember only use this stand on large diameter trees.

better ones out there.

Date:January 6, 2008
This stand is very comfortable but it has some draw backs.First the backpack straps are a joke.Mine broke on the first day out.The toe bar loggy is so proud of is tricky to slide out of the way after your in the tree.Be sure your wearing your harness or you may end up on the ground.Still it does climb well and you can sit it all day.In my opinion quality does not reflect the price.

Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer

Date:October 2, 2007
Overall this stands appears to be very well thought out and built sturdy. I can't wait to try it out. Initially I would offer these opinions that would be on the part of the manufacturer (not Cabela's): The Optional Gun and Foot Rests should come with the stand. The included DVD and printed instructions could also be more up to date and specific to this stand (vice an entire line of stands). Other than those two minor items I feel I got a great deal on a stand that will make me more successful and also last a long time. Recommended by this Midwestern Illinois Bow Hunter!

Good but needs two fixes

Date:August 6, 2007
Overall my experience with this stand is pretty good. The platform is nice and sturdy and is very easy to climb without making much noise at all. The climbing bar is nice for archers because once you are in your tree this can be used to rest your bow on and the cover on it makes it virtually silent. Now the two items that desperately need fixed to make this a great stand. The first was mentioned by another user here in that the backpacking is not the best. I think that it is meant for the tether strap to provide enough tension to keep these together but it's not the best. If you do buy this make sure that you have a bungie cord available to tie them together. The other problem is that I have already had two of the plastic wing nuts strip out on me. They put a metal nut inside a plastic wing nut and even though I did not overtighten them the one cracked and the other stripped out of the plastic holder. I will probably go to the local hardware store and buy two solid metal ones so that this does not happen agan. Other then those two items it is a great stand and very comfortable for those long days in the woods.

Quiet, Comfortable, Convinient

Date:July 27, 2007
Verry comfortable stand, you could forget your in a tree stand and think your in your favorite chair. It is verry quiet and you can sneak up a tree in no time. The climing aid is simple fast and has a bar you can sit on while climbing. It is light and easy to back pack. There are some down falls to the stand however. The stand can limit your ability to choose bigger trees because the cable is not verry long. This may prevent you from climbing the exact tree you want. The stand can be back packed but it does not hook together very strongly. Over all this is a great product and i recomend it to anyone looking for a good climber stand.
