Benelli Super Shotgun

Date:October 25, 2011
This is a great shotgun! I ran straight at skeet the first time I used it. ( I do not run straight at skeet very often.) It is very light yet the recoil is very manageable. This means that the gun is fast on target and that second shots are also fast. Just as advertised. The finish is very robust after many years of use there were no scratches. My only complaint is that one must use full 1 and 1/8 oz. 3 dram loads. It does not cycle lighter loads reliably.

Super? I think so. Custom? Can be. Kicks Hard? NO.

Date:October 1, 2011
PROS:
*Feather-light without the kick you usually encounter with a lightweight shotgun.
*Swings fast. (swings even smoother with a 6oz weighted mag cap.)
*Cycles as fast as you can pull the trigger. I have never experienced a problem cycling the lightest or heaviest loads with my 12ga. Zero hiccups. Ported barrel with Inertia and Comfortech Systems keep muzzle climb and recoil quite manageable, makes for for quicker more accurate follow up shots.
*Easier and a LOT cheaper to get a custom fit. No need to have a gunsmith permanently alter your stock for LOP and comb adjustments. Easy to change Gel buttpads available in different thicknesses makes it easy to change length-of -pull, simple to install combs of varying heights available for custom comb height. Once you get it fit, there's no messing around. Mount the gun to your shoulder and you are instantly lined up to shoot. That's the kind of custom fit I'm looking for in a shotgun!
*Super fast and easy to clean. Like to shoot your shotgun but hate to clean it? This is the gun for you.
I guess you figgered out I like this gun.
The looks of the gun may not be everyone's cup 'o tea. Especially us ol' dawgs. But hey, even us ol' dawgs can learn a new trick once in a while.
CONS:
Pricey... But worth every penny.

benelli vs. mossberg 935

Date:September 24, 2010
I went to one of Tim Bradley's show and got to shoot this benelli 5 time with just regular 8 shot. it was the worst gun i had ever shot! it kicked so hard it left a mark on my shoulder. i dont know how they shoot 5000 rounds at doves but i got a mossberg 935 for geese and shoot 3 1/2 shells and kicks way less then the benelli.

Great Gun

Date:March 17, 2010
This is my first time to purchase a Benelli, and I must say I will not be shooting many other shotguns from now on. The CorforTech system is a great addition for the all around shooter, the gel pad is made specifically for right or left handed shooters so don't make the mistake you can shoot either side. It is a great gun right out of the box, no break in shooting needed. The choke tubes do shoot a tighter pattern; you may have to adjust accordingly. The ability to fire at one target and then acquire the next was exceptional, and the gun will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. The weight of the gun is another positive, it is somewhat front heavy however (but with a 30in barrel what do you expect). The only improvement I would like to see Benelli make is to the front sight, it is a bit small. Even if they made it with a 1in neon would be an improvement. However I plan to add a Champion EasyHit Shotgun Sporting Sight also sold at Cabelas. If you are looking for great clay busting gun that is easy to shoot, clean, and catch you some attention at the course this is the gun for you.

BENELLI SUPERSPORT

Date:March 6, 2010
The negative is in chambering the shell. When shooting 2,500 rounds in Argentina, the chambering action would not fully rotate leaving a 1/8th inch gap. This will allow the firing pin to activate but it fails to hit the primer. FRUSTRATING. With the gap, you cannot put a shell into the holding tube.
The answer is to lubricate the parts that rotate to fully engage the firing pin with the primer of the shell in the chamber. Mine is 20 gauge. Taking out the plug allows 5 shots. The gauge on the forward grip indicates the number of shells in the holding tube. It is a linear red line. Light weight, no recoil. The two sights on the ribbed barrell are at the mid and tip of gun barrell allowing for tree and powerline dead eye shooting.

Super Sport

Date:February 10, 2010
I shot the Super Sport 30" barrell model last year for ducks and occasional trap. Can't say a bad thing about the gun. I came to appreciate the 30" barrell in the duck blind because the muzzle was well above my face. Very easy to keep it pointed in a safe manner. I like to two piece receiver for ease of cleaning, although Benelli's very seldomn need an extensive cleaning.
2 3/4" and 3" shells all fed flawlessly.
I was a bit worried about the brushed nickel finish scaring off birds, but I saw no evidence of that.
The comfort-tech system does noticably reduce felt recoil.
I banged the gun a bit getting in and out of our metal blinds. The carbon fibre butt stock and forearm showed zero sign of abuse however. Not a scratch.
