Knight Knight Long-Range Hunter Muzzleloading Rifles

There is no equal to the Long Range Hunter in terms of range, power, accuracy and styling. The pro staff at Knight Rifles bagged a record book Kalahari Gemsbok in Namibia, Africa while field testing one of their Long Range Hunter rifles using 120 grains of Triple Se7en? powder. This rifle line was developed to take the burden out of making long shots a tough decision, so you can bag and tag the trophy you're after. These rifles reliably shoot out to 200 yards. Each rifle comes with two breech plug options, one that utilizes the patented Full Plastic Jacket? and one that holds a plain 209 primer. The 27", spiral, custom-fluted, stainless-steel Green Mountain barrel is unlike other barrels, because it won't shift out of alignment due to environmental conditions or pressure thanks to a special lug system. Fully adjustable, metallic fiber-optic sights. Trigger has adjustable creep, pull-weight and over travel. Checkered stock comes with a recoil pad and has sling swivel studs. 1-in-28"-twist barrel. Length of pull: 14-1?2". Overall length: 45-1?2". Weight 8 lbs., 4 oz. Stock finish: Forest Green, Forest Green Thumbhole, Sandstone. Available: .50-caliber.

This muzzleloader is very accurate as all my Knight Rifles have been. Very easy to load, shoot, and clean. I would highly recommend. Hope Knight makes a comeback.

Very Accurate

Date:August 10, 2009
As of the date of this review, have fired 100 rounds of varying sabot/powder combinations. One inch or better accuracy/3 shots at 100yds with TruGlo Trubrite BDC 4X12 scope. Using two 50gr TripleSeven pellets and 285 gr Barnes Boattail and TripleSeven primers. Tried Blackhorn 209 powder with both breech plugs supplied (plastic jacket and bare primer types) with CCI209 Magnum primers and had a few hangfires. Remington STS primers had more hangfires. Would NOT use this powder with this rifle. I hunt deer with mine and anything less than 100 percent reliability is unacceptable, IMHO. Would have given 5 stars if not for the powder/ignition issue. Also have a T/C Omega and no problems with the most accurate load of 110 gr of Blackhorn 209 powder and CCI209 Magnum priimers, 285 Barnes Boattail. Accuracy in the Omega with this load is three quarters inch at 100 yds and one and one half to two and a half inches at 200 yds. For the Knight, as long as you stick with anything but Blackhorn, you will be very satified with the accuracy of this rifle. Good Hunting

Knight Long-Range Hunter

Date:August 10, 2009
For what Cabelas offered this gun for price wise I couldn't resist. The gun fits perfect. A little heavy but not bad. Nice thumbhole stock. Spiral fluting. Very nice looking w/ great workmanship. By far the best I've owned. Just topped with a Nikon muzzleloader scope. Can't wait to sight it in. I know they shut down manufacturing but you'd be hard pressed to find a better gun for this price.

Knigh Long Range Hunter Thumbhole

Date:August 3, 2009
Absolutely awesome gun right here, I bought the thumbhole model this time, I already own the sandstone one. This is in my opinion the finest muzzleloading rifle ever made, bar none. I now own 4 Knights, 2 of them LRHunters, these guns consistently shoot under 2" groups at 200 yards. In addition to the performance, the LRHunter is a work of art, just plain beautiful, the laminated wood, the fluted barrel, you can see the level of care that went into their manufacture. If you were to ever require service, the Knight people are a joy to deal with, customer service is outstanding. This gun will last you a lifetime, you can pass it on to your grandkids. Knight Long Range Hunter

Date:July 24, 2009
I was able to get to the range with mine yesterday. I havent found a load it really likes yet at 100yds, but accuracy at 50yds is outstanding. Ill be ordering a bunch of different bullet types to experiment with soon. I would have rated it a 5 if the welds were a little better on the bolt. The stock is a LOT wider than I expected it to be.

`knight long range hunter

Date:July 22, 2009
my son and I have grown up with Knight rifles from the first in lines to the 45 cal. Knight disc extreme and the 50 cal long distance hunter. Too bad they are discontinue these very hard hitting, excellant accuracy inline rifles for long distance and ethical killing power. Sorry boys the KP2 and the shadow are not and never will take the place of in line rifles. I know competion and I know quality and the Shadow and the kp2 which I have bought both and actually gave them away. They are of low quality.
