Poor quality control and major design flaw

Date:August 15, 2009
Gun would not open. The lever would not open the latch no matter what we tried. Finish on stock was poor with many gaps, seams and smudges in the camo finish. Butt stock does not seat into receiver. The only point of attachment for stock is one screw in the rear. Very weak design with lots of flex. Recoil pad and spacer overlapped stock by up to 1/8 inch. I was thoroughly disappointed with everything except the fiberglass ram rod and the metal-based fiber optic sights.
You usually get what you pay for. In this case you get less.

Great Deal.

Better get one. When I opened box, found the recoil pad (very soft) loose. The instructions for moving the extractor are wrong. All that is required is to pull the extractor back with you fingers and move it out of the way. Takes 2 seconds.
This gun is very well made. It came with a scope base, a nice ramrod handle and breech plug wrench. The iron sights are much, much improved over any others I have seen on an in-line. The front sight is narrower allowing you to actually see your target at longer ranges. Also, the gun, though heavy, is a sweet shooter. Low recoil and high accuracy. Very first shot was a "flyer" but the gun, once dirty, shot great. The trigger pull is excellent, as are the sights. Shot 4 in group with iron sights at 80 yds. 350 grain bullets with 90 gr Trip7 ffg. Will go to 100 grains at next outing. The heft of this gun makes it sweet to shoot. Be sure to clean this gun well before you shoot it. It took forever to get the yellow goop out of barrel, but it needs to be done. Also, and this is important,...fire at least one primer after swabbing and before shooting to dry out breech plug. The breech plug is hollow, thus is effectively the chamber. Your ram jag will not go into it, so if you put moisture in there while wet swabbing, you need to dry it with a primer. Pedersoli makes a quality product. This gun was originally priced over 500. I'd buy it again.

Exellent Buy !!!!

Date:August 12, 2009
I had been looking for an inline muzzle loader, when i happened to see this gun, went to several sights, read nothing good reviews, and when I saw the original list price, I knew this was the one. The quality of the gun is outstanding, haven't had time to get to the range yet, when I do, I don't think I will be disappointed.
