Nice Cannon!

Date:June 16, 2013
I purchased the Ironsides cannon kit. The quality is very good.
The barrel is shipped "in-the-white'. I painted mine black with Duracoat.
I'm very happy with the cannon. Shooting it is a "blast"!
pardon the pun! I have not used projectiles; I've just been shooting it as blanks.

A Pretty Good Cannon

Date:November 29, 2011
Just finished the .69 cal Old Ironsides kit, nice and easy to build, and fairly accurate in detail. I made a few modifications, such as adding washers between the wheels and the locking pins (which is just a good idea, as they take up a little of the slack & keep the pins from rubbing on the wheels) and using a better grade rope (the one furnished is pretty rough) Overall, I am very happy with this cannon, and can't wait to fire it. Good job Traditions ! (Did I mention that it's HUGE ?)

Fired a broadside

Date:October 13, 2011
Old Ironside kit is outstanding! Easy to assemble, looks great. Would have been nice to include small amount of barrel treatment to give antique patina to match the stained wood carriage. But works great. Fired a shot in salute to the now closed Army post, at Fort Monroe VA from my sail boat in the Chesapeake Bay. Great value for what I wanted.
