Hammer failure.

Date:October 17, 2009
This gun is not too bad for the price however the hammer failed to cock after only 6 shots. I worked the safety back and forth a couple of times and it started to cock again. If Traditions will fix it under warranty then it's not a bad purchase.

Cannot find tall rings to mount the scope

Date:January 31, 2010
I just bought this gun. Have not shot it yet and I'm still trying to set it up. But I'm running into difficulties finding tall scope rings to mount the scope. The tall see-through rings for this gun are not available anywhere. The short or medium ones are too low because the scope hits the hammer. I was very excited buying this muzzleloader but if the parts are this hard to come by, then I would have to reevaluate.

Bang

Date:April 10, 2011
For the price, accuracy and capabilities this is one of the best rifles. Only rifle cheaper and more accurate then this rifle is a Mossin Nagant.
It is easy to load, cheap to fire, easily cleaned, great price and completely fun.

Lots of Bang for the Buck

Date:June 7, 2011
Out of the box good accuracy with TC 370gr MaxiBall and Triple 7. I'm planing to use it for Colorado elk this year.
Upgraded the sights. The Williams WGRS aperture rear sight from Cabelas fit fine. The Traditions plastic front sight that came on the gun was too tall for the new sight. The calculations indicated that the Williams 0.485" high one piece FireSight Ramp stocked by Cabelas was also a bit tall. I opted for the 0.445" high version of the same available directly from Williams and it worked for me.
