fine rifle with a fine price

Date:August 29, 2009
I have had my CVA for 2 years now and have shot and hunted with it a fair bit. I have not found one single issue with this rifle that would give me any reason to lay it down for something else. It shoots great, loads easy and looks even better. If your not wanting to spend a bunch of money on a fine muzzleloading rifle, this is the one for you.

Kodiak Pro 50 cal. camo & stainless

Date:August 4, 2009
I totally enjoy shooting my CVA muzzleloader. I shoot
Triple 7 pellets or powder and Powerbelt 245gr HP bullets. It shoots very tight groups at 100yds, and could easily shoot longer shots with a good rest.
Mine is the Pro with the 29" barrel. I have never had any problems loading/shooting this gun. I am very pleased. It shoots just as good as my brothers TC Omega.

CVA Kodiak Pro SS barrel NOT SS piviot block

Date:October 19, 2009
Bought a CVA Kodiak Pro 29" 50 cal with stainless barrel, but the piviot block is not stainless. I think it should be... I shot it new and got a tight group sighted in no problem in 6 shots. Cleaned the gun. Hunted last years fall PA in line muzzeloading season. Put it away for the year. Took it out this year, the PIVIOT BLOCK was RUSTY... only 6 shots and a cleaning job, never seen a gun rust like this... They should make the piviot block from SS or offer it as a option. I bought stainless so I could hunt in the rain and not worry about it. But its a good value at $200-250!

CVA kodiak pro, stainless black

Date:July 6, 2009
I ordered this item as specified it had a barrel 1" shorter than the specs said, I sent that one back and Cabelas sent another after informing me all the stainless black guns had 28" barrels instead of 29" I agreed to accept it even though I had just bought a camo, stainless kodiak pro for a friend at Cabelas and it did have a 29" barrel so the second one I could hardly get a powerbelt bullet to load, I checked everything and own several other MLs so I sent it back defective and Cabelas sent a third one, it was just like the second, barrel too tight to load powerbelt bullets without almost braking the metal loading rod but I did find a sabot load that wold load without too much strain and it shoots it pretty good so I will keep it to avoid anymore hassle for me and the very nice ladies I have dealt with at Cabela's. I don't blame Cabela's but CVA has a problem somewhere in making the barrels too tight, the powerbelt bullets actually had groves cut in them once you pushed them through the barrel[ after removing the breech plug] This has never happened with any of my other MLs The price was good and service great but there are problems with the barrels on these guns.
