Grizzly Ammo in 45/70

Date:February 7, 2008
WOW...greatest ammo...I like it much better than the Hornady Leverevolution because of the total knock down power and no chance of total penetration without the ballistic tip.
As usual, great service from Cabella.

Everything comes with a price.

Date:November 29, 2007
After having a Remington 300gr completely fail on a black bear at 4 yards, i decided to use the Grizzly 350gr Hawk +P (45-70 govt.). I am sure that it would be a devastating bullet on any game. If you like recoil, these things kick like a mule. I was really exited after a couple of shots on the range because i could tell that these bullets do not play games. This is where the problems began. I shoot a Marlin 1895 Guide gun, and for the first time ever, the gun jamned, spent casing ejected just fine but the next one did not make it all the way out of the magazine. It happened twice after that again, even when just unloading the gun without firing it. I think it's because these bullets are loaded to the max, the cases expand when they seat the bullet in the casing and that's what makes them hang up comming out of the tubular magazine. Upon inspection of the spent casing, these rounds have every symptom of an overpressurized case. I need a hard hitting bullet in a reliable round that will load after every shot, without ever jamming.
If i was shooting a solid block or single shot 45-70, i would be shooting these rounds, they are the hardest hitting out there, period. But in lever actions, their reliability when chamberring is questionable and the case expansion of the fired rounds have me nervous.

Awsome Power

Date:July 3, 2007
Grizzly ammo is the most powerful and accurate 45-70 ammo that I have used. It is as good or better than my own personal reloads. Only the best brass, bullets, powders, and primers are used. The 350 gr. bullet is truly devasting on whitetail deer. I hope to use some on black this fall.
