My go to lure for Kings and Steelhead

By
Country: United States

I've been using Mepps spinners for gong on 40 years now and have caught everything from salmon, steelhead, trout, crappie, bass, to bluegill. I've only recently been using the Flying C and it has outfished all other spinners and spoons for both salmon and steelhead on both the Sacramento and American rivers.
My favorite colors are chartreuse/silver, and pink/silver. I use #5 7/8oz for salmon and #4 5/8oz for steelhead.

Killler on salmon in fresh or salt

By
Country: United States

Great spinner for situations where you need your lure to drop fast and run deep. Excellent in fast flowing rivers and strong tidal flows. The big blade displaces a lot of water. Can be trolled or casted.
If you notice a lot of followers, try tying on a small hoochie or bright salmon fly a foot or two behind the spinner. The fish will be attracted to the spinner and nail the trailer.
Only drawback is how much it hurts when you lose 'em!

Silver Salmon Secret Weapon

I bought one of these while on a silver salmon trip in Cordova, AK. The rivers were blown out due to extreme rainfall and we had a couple of days of frustration while catching no fish. The flying C saved the trip for us. The fish would not hit a fly or anything else that we threw out except for this spinner. We were landing fish on almost every cast with this beauty. I'll never leave home without it.

Great Lure needs a stronger hook

By

I've used this lure trolling for silvers in Vladez for the last three years. It was hooking fish when nothing else was working, but I had to switch out the treble hook for a stronger hook. The orginal caught a couple fish and then the tines on the hook started to bend and we lost a couple fish. Stronger hook, no problems. I agree with one of the other reviewers, it does hurt when you lose a hot lure. I have a couple spares that have already been rigged up with a stronger treble hook now!

Best spinner for Alaska Silvers

By
Country: United States
State: Washington

Have used the #4(5/8) successfully for years on the Alaska Peninsula for Silvers. For me best color is the
Glo Pink/Hot Pink Sleeve with treble hook. The waters I fish are a very clear and fast running river. Silvers run large there. For the last 3 years I have fished this lure only.
