very nice pole

i bought 3 of these poles for the kids. they are amazing so long as you remember they don't come with the led light that the catfish version does. that being said, considering the walleye pole is roughly half the cost of the catfish pole, i thought it would be a great investment for my kids. the key to enjoying the use of these poles is to remember to bring along a flashlight to recharge them every 45 min or so.

It glows

It is a fine rod for light jigging and still fishing for walleye. it also works fine for trolling. I would not recommend this as a casting rod.

Great yak rod

This rod came just a day before my trip for spring stripers in the salt. Landed over 30 fish over a couple of days and had a blast, action is a little soft but I was using heavier line than reccomended for the rod, and heavy jigs, rod proved to be a perfect kayak rod and at a great price. Only complaint I had was that I have previously purchased the heavy battery lighted versions for the surf and this one doesnt glow as bright but it was still a great rod!

Great rod, but a bit dissapointed that I thought it was coming with an Led light as advertised, and was told after receiving the item that it is no longer made with that feature. I kept the rod anyway.

Over all I like the rod. I was however upset because the description says that there is a led light in the rod itself with an on/off switch. There isn't an on/off switch and there isn't a led light. The rod just glows in the dark.

I was extremely disappointed in this product primarily due to misinformation on the description given on Cabelas web site as follows: "With their innovative glowing E-glass blanks, these rods make it easy to keep an eye out for even the slightest strikes when fishing after dark. In addition to the glowing blank, which will absorb light and glow on its own, these rods include an internal, battery-operated LED for extra illumination. A switch on the handle lets you easily shut off the LED when not in use for prolonged battery life."
I found no evidence of a battery operated LED or a switch on the handle. I was expecting to use this to see the rod at night from a distance of more than 10 feet away. Without this extra illumination, I now own two of these rods which I have absolutely no use for. They sit in the corner of my garage.
