Open Mind

Date:October 27, 2008
I purchased this rod after using Loomis rods for twenty years and was concerned when I unpacked it. The tip was very soft (something my Loomis' are not, extra fast actions) but I took it out and used it immediately. I landed two 19" LMB's with no problems at all. I could cast a light-weight crankbait into the teeth of a 15-18 mph wind with little effort. The rod absorbed the surges the fish put on at the boat and I have not lost a solidly hooked fish yet!

Love my Kistler Mg's

Date:May 22, 2008
It is great to see Kistler has a fan following after being on the market for years now, and Alton Jones' Bassmaster Classic win with Kistlers didn't hurt any.
I picked up the 6'10" "Chatterbait" rod for Christmas, and then shortly after, the 7' composite glass/ graphite crankbait rod.
The "Chatterbait" one is thin, lightweight, and very versatile. The Crankbait one is a bit more stout, as in a HUGE tapered blank, with LOTS of whip in the tip, but it holds up with great flex and muscle when hauling the bass in.
Kistler's service and staff are top notch, if you ever have any trouble, they are quick to respond and get you taken care of, and THAT is the #1 reason I spend my hard earned money on them.
I just wish they had the old style blank through grip, but the reels hold secure, and the foregrip cork is not there, so I'll deal with it.
I still tend to be partial to my Daiwa Viento/ Light & Tough combo for worms and jigs, but the Kistler "Chatterbait" rod and TD Zillion burner combo are gaining my respect very quickly.

Great line of rods

Date:June 27, 2007
I have several Kistler Magnesiums that I have bought through cabelas. I have the worm/senko special, all purpose, spinning, all day flipping, and cranking. They are a great rod for the price point. Light, sensitive, and I love the split grip and your finger goes directly on the blank. The only complaint I have is the reel seat allows movement of your reel, which can be fixed with some rubber bands as shims, but if you are listening kistler, this fix would make a good rod great. Also, I had my all purpose break in half on a hookset. I have sent the rod back and lets see how they treat me as it only was a few months old

What a rod!

Date:March 22, 2007
Told myself I would never spend over a hundred bucks on a rod. Saw Trey Kistler on an episode of Fishing University and researched his rods a bit more. Talked my wife into letting me purchase the 6'9 all purpose rod. All I can say is PREMIUM! I love not having the top cork, it really makes a difference when jigging or finessing. I have fenwicks, shimanos, and even a G. Loomis. Granted different rods serve different purposes, I still find it hard to reach for anything else.

Kistler TS

Date:November 22, 2006
I have a number of Kistler rods. I have purchased 4 different
TS rods in the last year and am very happy with the rods themselves. They are so light and comfortable that you have a tendency to forget why you ever bought anything else. The only disspointment that I have is with the quality of the cork on the end of the blank. (handle) If you are doing a lot of "skip-casting" the cork tends to give up and break away. Again though, with a little bit of work from Trey Kistler and his team, I am sure they will perfect this minor problem.
Until then, I will stay with the Helium Series.

Jig-n-Toad rod

Date:November 17, 2006
By far the BEST rod I have ever used. It feels like a feather and you can feel every bump on the other end too. It is a little high on the price but quality isn't cheap. Highly Recommended!
