Ram Mount for GPS sonar unit,

"I thought the Ram mount was well thought out and offers a better mounting than doing a hard install on the boat. The unit I bought included the mount for the GPS module and made that installation very simple. This will allow you to route all the wiring in one specific area and makes the tidying up of the wiring much simpler. I would recommend this unit to anyone updating their electronics. The unit works well on the water and even in rough conditions 3 to 4 foot swells the electronics stayed solid."

"I ordered this RAM mount for my new GPS/Sonar unit. I spent over a grand on this unit, so I don't want it to fall or get damaged. The RAM mount is made of aluminum allow, really holds firmly, and allows me to swivel the unit so I can see it from anywhere in the boat, even operating the trolling motor. And it holds it FIRM, even at high boat speeds."

"This RAM device allowed me to mount the GPS and it's antenna on my boat's helm that has very limited room. The combination of varying height and angle allows me to view all of my gages and provide the GPS with sturdy support at a point "in space". If and when I add radar I will use another RAM device to mount the radar display."

"I have seen these units on other boats and felt like it would work well with my Lowrance 520C unit I recently purchased. The unit shipped with wonderful instructions and I had no problem putting it on my boat, however, when the GPS module is placed on the RAM mount, I can not pick up satelites. I would suggest to everyone that they move their GPS module around to see how far it needs to be from their Lowrance unit to function properly before buying a mount.
Other units may react differently."

"I purchased this mount primarily so that I could place my new Lowrance GPS/Sonar exactly where I wanted it on my console! It worked superbly! I couldn't have asked for a better fit for my needs! "I love this product. No drilling holes for the external antenna for the GPS. You can position the unit anyway you need to. When hauling your boat to and from the lake. You can remove the GPS and the antenna all ine one easy step. That way noone can steal the unit and antenna."

Unsuitable Adapter,

"I purchased this ram mount with the gps adapter mount for two purposes.
The first purpose was to mount my Lowrance LCX 15 mt on the bow of the boat for use as a secondary unit. The mount functions well.
The adapter plate that is shown for the mounting of the Lowrance GPS receiver is completely unsatisfactory for use with Lowrance equipment. Lowrance's tech support indicates that their GPS receivers must be mounted at least 3 feet from the display unit to prevent electrical interference and the possibility of burning out the gps receiver. Thus this adapter will not work with my equipment even though all of the catalogue advertising shows this with Lowrance equipment."

"I mounted a Lowrance 337C DF next to a LMS 330C using the RAM mount with adapter plate. The 337 could not capture a GPS signal with the antenna attached to the mount. The Lowrance help line stated that the antenna was placed to close to the 337 unit and was causing interference. I had to place the antenna elsewhere. This required drilling more holes in my boat. The 337 worked fine once the antenna was relocated."

"This product does an excellent job of providing flexibility for the positioning of my Eagle fishfinder. Whether I am seated while running the boat or standing while fishing, I am able to position the fishfinder to see what is going on in the water below. If the movable arm could be made longer with a telescopic capability it would earn a 5 star rating in my book."

"I love the RAM Mount with GPS Receiver plate for my Humminbird 987c and it has done an excellent job. It holds this big unit fine and helps absorb shock loads from rough water. It is nice to have the GPS Antenna Mounted to the RAM mount no extra holes to drill in the boat. I have never lost GPS signal with this unit and this combo. This mount gives me the flexibility to view the graph at any angle and even spin it around to view it from the front."
